A shared passion for wine and enology unites Maurizio Venegoni, his son Andrea, and his brother in law Massimo Pinetti. Outweighed by their jobs respectively in the food industry and interior design, this fascination of theirs remains just a hobby for many years.
As time passes by, their passion grows thanks to studies, learning experiences and tours of the best wine production areas in Italy. This goes on until they choose to turn their enthusiasm into a brand new business project.
Firstly they visit many vineyards of Piemonte, Veneto and Lombardia in order to find a vineyard suitable for their project. Their final choice is located in the Lugana region in the Garda Lake area, a beautiful place they immediately fall in love with.
Then a local agronomist and oenologist are added to the team because they were essential to create a high quality range of wines from the Garda Lake beautiful surroundings.
Lastly a name for this new project becomes necessary. Inspired by the picture of a vineyard blanketed with snow, Maurizio reminds the lyrics of a 1978 musical album by the italian progressive rock band Banco del Mutuo Soccorso: the simphony "..DI TERRA".
The eloquent words of this album describe the importance of silence and the primeval bond existing between human beings and their roots. These factors are also very important in winemaking when wine is considered a masterpiece that comes from a deep respect for nature with its strenghts and fragilities.
Today Silenzi di Terra offers a range of wines where passion, technical proficiency, and a taste for innovation are mixed with the love for these territories. Our main wine is Lugana which is produced in our vineyard that is certified as organic. It is a pleasantly sapid and fresh white wine, perfect as a complement to a relaxing day spent by the lake.
The choice of organic was made in order to fully respect morphological, cultural, and weather conditions but also to create a sustainability-oriented business strategy.
The range of products is enriched by the wines that Maurizio, Massimo and Andrea like to call "purposely made by our neighbours" - Chiaretto, Groppello, Moscato di Scanzo and others.
Here's our new and complete wine collection named SGUARDI DI TERRA, in which every wine is a glance at the results of a path made of sounds and rythms dictated by nature that eternally and magically changes every year.
"In the sky and other silent things I struggle to live, oh Mother Earth, as nothing more than a tree and nothing less than a star, and in every sound and silence of the Earth."
Francesco Di Giacomo – BMS – Album: "...di Terra"
And now after the sounds and silences, our SGUARDI (gazes) are part of a simple and silent complicity with nature and Mother Earth.

Just like it happened to Catullus, the first poet to celebrate it in his verses, Maurizio, Massimo e Andrea fell in love with the Garda Lake.
That is an ideal place for tailor-made holidays: for those who love nature and sport, for those who want to visit places rich in history and culture. It is also a real paradise for food and wine lovers.
This territory displays different kinds of soil: an alluvial plain, morainic hills, the slopes of the Pre-Alps, and lake shores.
The area called Lugana is located south of the Garda Lake and stretches from the towns of Desenzano and Lonato to Peschiera and Pozzolengo. This morainic territory, rich in clay and sedimentary rocks and characterized by a mild climate, gifts its wines with good saltiness, structure, and harmony in flavors.
